Ruby

A Sweet Senior Surrounded by Love

Update: Ruby had her two week checkup and, unfortunately, hasn’t gained any weight. She’s eating, but not much, so she’s been switched to puppy food to help her put on some pounds. Our vet will recheck her in a month and may do another ultrasound if there’s no improvement. If she can gain weight and get stronger, surgery may be an option. For now, she’s happy, affectionate, and loves following her foster mom around. She is such a sweet girl! 💕

Ruby is a gentle senior girl, around 10 years old, who came to us from a local shelter in rough shape, underweight, matted and in need of care and kindness. Beneath it all, we found a tender soul with a quiet spirit and so much love to give.

Recent tests showed a lesion on Ruby’s liver and several masses on her spleen. While her chest X-rays were thankfully clear, her focus now is on comfort, care, and helping her regain strength. She’s not eating as well as we’d like, but she’s receiving all the support she needs from her devoted foster family and veterinary team.

Ruby is now in a wonderful Forever Foster home with experienced, compassionate caregivers who know how to make her days peaceful, happy and full of love. GRRSN will continue to provide for all of Ruby’s medical needs for the rest of her life.

Every day, Ruby reminds us of the beauty of resilience and the healing power of love. She is safe, adored and finally home. ❤️
