Cedar – Medical Hold
When Cedar came to GRRSN as an owner surrender, years of neglect had taken a tremendous toll. He is severely overweight, dealing with untreated hypothyroidism, painful skin issues, significant dental disease and masses that will need attention once he is healthy enough for procedures. Right now, even standing and walking can be difficult for this tired senior boy.
But Cedar’s story is not going to end there.
We’re working hard to get him the medical care, nutrition, weight management and comfort he desperately needs. Our hope is that, as his health improves, Cedar will regain some of his strength and energy and be able to enjoy life much more comfortably.
And through all of this, Cedar has shown us exactly who he is underneath it all.
He is a sweet, affectionate, gentle old soul who absolutely melts for attention. He loves being petted and reassured, and when you stop petting him, he makes the funniest little low, gurgly sound, as if to say, “Excuse me… I wasn’t finished being loved yet.” 🥹
That’s Cedar.
He may have had a difficult beginning to his senior years, but we’re determined to give him the chapter he deserves.
Once Cedar is feeling better and ready for his next step, he will need a special family who understands that adopting a senior dog is about giving love, patience and comfort… and cherishing every day together. Cedar will be a Forever Foster and GRRSN will cover his veterinary care for the rest of his life.
We’re not looking for someone to feel sorry for Cedar. We’re looking for someone who will see him: the sweet boy underneath the neglect, the gentle soul who still wants nothing more than to be loved.
Cedar has so much love left to give. ❤️
For now, we’re focused on helping him heal, getting him comfortable and giving him the best possible chance at a happy future.
And when that day comes, we hope there will be a family waiting to show Cedar just how wonderful life can be.
His story isn’t over. In many ways, it’s just beginning. 🐾💛
