Azalea Rose

Azalea Rose is a young Goldendoodle with a big personality packed into her 48 pound frame. At around a year old, she is full of energy, curiosity and enthusiasm for life. She’s also still learning how to be a dog, so she’s looking for a family that is willing to invest time, patience and training into helping her become the best version of herself.

Azalea Rose can be shy and unsure in new situations, but once she starts to feel comfortable, her playful side comes shining through. As a young dog who likely hasn’t had much guidance, she tends to use her mouth when she’s either overly excited or feeling nervous and overwhelmed. This isn’t aggression, it’s simply how she’s learned to communicate and cope with big feelings. She will need a family committed to teaching her that mouths are for treats, toys and giving kisses, not for grabbing hands and sleeves.

She appears to do well with other dogs and may benefit from having a confident canine companion to help show her the ropes. Like many young doodles, Azalea Rose is smart, active and eager to learn, but she’ll need consistent guidance, structure and positive reinforcement as she adjusts to life outside the shelter.

Because she is still working on her manners and learning appropriate ways to interact with people, we feel she would do best in a home without small children. Her ideal family will understand that building confidence takes time and will celebrate the small victories along the way.

Azalea Rose isn’t looking for a perfect family, she’s looking for a patient one. Beneath the fluffy exterior is a sweet, goofy girl who wants to connect with her people but is still figuring out how to navigate the world. If you have the time and commitment to give her, you’ll be rewarded with a loyal companion who is sure to keep you smiling.

Could Azalea Rose be the missing piece of your family?
