Cocoa

Cocoa came to GRRSN as an owner surrender after his family shared that they could no longer give him the time and attention he deserved.

Cocoa weighs 64 pounds, much thinner than he should be, but with good nutrition and loving care, he’s already on his way to becoming the healthy, happy boy he’s meant to be.

This handsome 5½ year old Golden Retriever is an energetic boy who loves being around people. He does well with other dogs but has shown resource guarding with both food and toys, so he’ll need a family that understands how to safely manage those situations and is committed to continuing positive reinforcement training.

Cocoa is also still working on his house training and will need a patient family willing to help him establish a consistent routine and continue building good habits.

We also learned that Cocoa was often left home alone for up to 10 hours a day. Those lonely days are behind him now. He’s ready for a family with the time and commitment to give him the exercise, structure and companionship he’s been missing.

Cocoa has so much love to give and is looking for a family that will embrace his playful spirit while providing the guidance he needs to thrive. If you’re ready to help a deserving Golden write his next chapter, Cocoa is ready to meet you.
