Milo
Milo came to GRRSN under heartbreaking circumstances, surrendered by his owner after suddenly losing his vision and becoming unable to walk. Late one Saturday, a call to the GoldLine changed everything for this sweet boy.
That same evening, Milo was brought to an emergency vet, where he was found to be suffering from painful corneal ulcers. Though he could walk with guidance, he was clearly in distress. Bloodwork revealed elevated red and white blood cell counts, and he was started on antibiotics, eye drops, and pain medication to ease his discomfort.
The next day, Milo was transferred to one of our trusted partner veterinarians for further evaluation. Additional testing—including a thorough exam by a veterinary ophthalmologist—revealed not only severe pain in both eyes but also an enlarged lymph node. The top concern was lymphoma. A fine needle aspirate was performed, and Milo continued receiving supportive care while we awaited the results.
Sadly, the diagnosis of lymphoma was confirmed, and it may be an advanced stage. But even in the face of such a serious illness, Milo’s spirit has never wavered. He still wags his tail when he hears a kind voice and leans in for affection with quiet trust and gratitude.
Now, Milo is living his best life as a cherished Forever Foster in a loving GRRSN home. His incredible foster family has fully embraced him, and their pack has welcomed him as one of their own—helping him safely navigate the house and yard. Surrounded by comfort, care, and unconditional love, Milo is thriving.
At 8½ years old, Milo still has so much life and joy in him. We are working closely with a veterinary oncologist to ensure he receives the best care possible. He deserves every chance we can give him—and thanks to your continued support, that’s exactly what he’s getting.
Please keep sweet Milo in your thoughts. No matter what lies ahead, he will never be alone. He will be loved, cherished, and treated with the dignity every dog deserves.
