Dear GRRSN,
We have been in love with our Gregarious Golden Retriever named Rusty for 13 years. He was our baby.
He had an amazing personality. For instance, on his own accord, 12 years ago when my parents were visiting, Rusty excitedly went to awaken my mom with her slippers in his mouth pushed to her face, wagging his tail vigorously with joy. She woke up laughing!
I made up a song describing him when a puppy:
See the bird up in the tree🌳🕊
Chase the crickets when they jump🐜
Smell the flowers like a bee🐝
Look out! Into Rusty you will bump🐕🎼🎶
Now in our throats there is a lump😢
Until 2 weeks ago he was good. We took our every Sunday early morning walk (since March we stopped going to the doggie park). But 2 days later after he had his annual flu vaccine, he was not the same. Apparently, his liver could not metabolize it. He was diagnosed with a very high white blood cell count in his liver, and his thyroid was low. Seems it was cancer that progressed to his spine. Nearly overnight, he was paralyzed in his hind legs and very weak.
Dr. Unser at Grand Montecito Animal Hospital has shown true caring. We are GRATEFUL for this location.
Thank you so much for being wonderful, having given our family so much happiness from the best boy ever.
We wanted you to know
Very Sincerely,
LOVE, Danny & Charlyn
