Marlowe “Mac” MacDuff
I wanted to let you know that our boy, Marlowe MacDuff, also known as “Mac” (and formerly known some 9 years ago as “Goldie”) crossed the Rainbow Bridge today. Last fall he was diagnosed with a Mast Cell Tumor. It was successfully removed and the pathology report indicated that the tumor was intact and that the surrounding tissue was clean of any cancers. It was suggested to us that he was in good health and, at almost 10 years old, might not have another tumor. About three months ago we started noticing new lumps. When we visited the Vet, he was certain that the Mast Cell Tumors were back and had spread. Eventually, it became clear to us that Mac was in pain all the time and that he was having difficulty keeping up with our now 16 month old Golden, Morrigan. After more research and some frank discussions, we decided to help Mac cross the Rainbow Bridge this afternoon.
This note is also, in part, a thank you for connecting Mac (aka Goldie) with us. He was a great Golden Boy and will be sorely missed.
