Echo
I adopted [Echo] at the beginning of March. He felt right at home immediately. He loves the couch and being pet at all times. Everyone falls in love with him when I take him for walks. He walks right next to me at all times, which is actually something I’m working on. I guess he was left so alone, he simply doesn’t know how to be a dog. He shows very little interest in other dogs, but he does enjoy going to visit my mom’s dog, which is also a golden retriever rescue. He is just learning that playing with another dog can be fun. But, he’s a bit like glue when we go for walks, so I was shocked and elated when we went on a hike with other dogs at Red Rock. Everyone was letting their dogs go free. I had no worry about him running away. But he took off when the leash came off. HE ran and ran and then looked back – oh no where was mom – and then he came running back. The attached picture is from that hike. HE is a perfect dog – as are all goldens! I do think that maybe he needs a friend. Oh, and he passed the canine companion and AKC good citizenship tests. The tester was so impressed with him. We will start visiting soon at hospitals or children’s centers soon. Thank you for your dedication and work for these wonderful friends! I’ll send a donation to help out the work. Ann C
