Walter Goes to Arizona

My husband and I just returned from Show Low AZ, we were visiting family and man was it cold there!

We took Jojo (poodle mix) and Walter with us.  Thanks to GRRSN, Walter is enjoying life, rather than being in a land fill somewhere.

They rescued him from death row a few months ago and now is our new boy!

Turns out that Walter does not enjoy riding in the car very much, good to know on a 6 and half hour road trip huh!  He finally stopped panting after the first couple of hours on the way to Arizona.  It is strange, he won’t even sit up and look out the window he just lays there and pants.  Anyhow he finally relaxed, by the way I have seen much worse! 

We did some off leash work there and both dogs did fantastic!  Walter even found an old bone in the snow.

Did you notice his styling jacket?  I was about to donate that to the Goodwill because it was a little small on me and then I decided to turn it into a coat for Walter.

It was a fun “up-cycling” project, I used one of the sleeves for the under the chest band, pretty clever I thought.  I also had to take darts in where the human shoulder seam was because it was poking out on the sides.  Not perfect, but it did keep him warm and dry in the 18 degree temperatures.

Thanks GRRSN we sure do love our new boy Walter!
