Milton Goes to the Rainbow Bridge

Finally, some sad news.  Our sweet little angel Milton went to the bridge today. Nothing is harder than being too late to help one of the dogs we hope to save.  When Debbie asked me to write the dedication for the calendars, I instantly thought of these dogs.  There have only been four since I started volunteering, but I remember clearly every one.  Milton never got to spend any of his time with us in a home, he’s been at the vet since we got him from Lied, but he spent a wonderful day at the beauty shop and I know he felt loved and safe during the time that we had him.  He was clean and medicated so he was comfortable, and he got lots of attention at Sun City.  Dr. Knehr called today to tell us he had taken a turn and was suffering. Helping him over The Bridge was probably one of the kindest things anyone has ever done for him. What a life he must have had, I wish we had met him sooner, but I’m glad his life didn’t end at the shelter.  Even though it’s not what we wanted for him, I know we made a difference in Milton’s life.  Best of all, he did not leave this world homeless.
