Looking at his angelic face, you would never suspect that Charlie, a six-year-old Golden Retriever from Adelaide, Australia, has broken the Guinness World Record for the loudest bark. When Charlie bellows out at full volume, his bark is the equivalent of a live rock band.
Charlie registered his record-breaking bark of 113.1 decibels at a national competition late last year, and the judges have now officially confirmed that Charlie beat out the German Shepherd from London who won in 2009 at a mere 108 decibels..
Belinda Freebairn, says Charlie developed his deep and very loud bark when he was only about a year old. But she doesn’t get complaint from neighbors because Charlie only barks on command. “He doesn’t bark at home at all really, he’s really quiet.” [Source]
